Top Universities in Malaysia According to the QS World University Rankings 2023

Cue the drum roll as the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has released the QS World University Rankings 2023, pitting the world’s finest institutions against each other.
Once again, University Malaya (UM) remains ahead of other Malaysian universities, coming in at 70th spot in the global rankings. Despite falling 5 places, UM retained its place among the global top 100 universities for a 5th consecutive year.
The QS rankings saw 11 Malaysian institutions climbing up the ladder from last year with only 3 universities declining in their rankings. Notably, UCSI University and Universiti Teknologi Petronas recorded impressive growths, both leaping more the 50 spots to rank #284 and #361 respectively. Meanwhile, Taylor’s University secured its spot as Malaysia’s number one private university in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, ranking at #284.
