Malaysia’s oldest university, University Malaya (UM), slides to the 65th spot in the global rankings. Despite falling 6 places, UM steadily held firm to its status as one of the top 100 universities in the world, making this its second-best performance in the history of the rankings.
While the QS ranking saw 12 Malaysian institutions decline from their rankings, 5 institutions delivered stellar performance by climbing up the ladder. Notably, Taylor’s University rose higher by leaping 47 spots forward, securing its spot as the top private university in Malaysia for the second time in a row.
Elsewhere, top-grade American tech university Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) came out top of the list for an outstanding 10th consecutive year, followed by Oxford University placing 2nd and pushing Stanford University to 3rd place.
