Which university reigns supreme in the world?
Times Higher Education has released its World University Rankings for the year 2021, comparing over 1,500 institutions from all across the globe.
Repeating its performance for a fifth consecutive year, Oxford University (UK) takes the top spot. Meanwhile, Stanford University (USA) and Harvard University (USA) both came in second and third respectively, taking over from last year's California Institute of Technology (USA) and University of Cambridge (UK).
Meanwhile, on the local scene, a total of 9 Malaysian universities made it to the top 1,000, a decrease from last year's 10. University Malaya (UM), unsurprisingly, is the top university in Malaysia, keeping their standing in the 301-350 range. Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) also maintains their second-place spot at a ranking of 501-600.
