Entry Requirements

  • STPM Science Stream: 2 Grade C in one Mathematics subject and one Science/ICT subject
  • STPM: Minimum 2 Grade C and either one (1) of the following;
    • a) A credit in SPM Additional Mathematics or equivalent
    • b) A credit in SPM Mathematics and one of the Science, Technology or Engineering subject
    • *For category (b), students must pass a Mathematics enhancement course relevant to Computer Science before they could proceed to take core courses that requires Mathematics as pre-requisite in this programme
  • A Level: 2 Grade D in one Mathematics subject and one Science/ICT subject
  • A Level: 2 Grade D and either one (1) of the following;
    • a) A credit in SPM/O Level Additional Mathematics or equivalent
    • b) A credit in SPM/O Level Mathematics or equivalent and one of the Science, Technology or Engineering subject
    • *For category (b), students must pass a Mathematics enhancement course relevant to Computer Science before they could proceed to take core courses that requires Mathematics as pre-requisite in this programme
  • UEC: Grade B in 5 subjects including one Mathematics subject and one Science/ICT subject

  • Diploma in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Information Technology/Information Systems or its equivalent with minimum CGPA 2.50 from Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TARUC)/other Institutions of Higher Learning
  • Diploma in Science and Technology: CGPA 2.50
    • Note: Diploma candidates with CGPA below 2.5 but above 2.0 may be admitted subject to a rigorous internal assessment process.
  • UTAR Foundation: 
    • Foundation in Science
    • Foundation in Arts and either one (1) of the following;
      • a) Pass in Mathematics subject equivalent to SPM Additional Mathematics in the Foundation/Matriculation or other equivalent qualification
      • b) A credit in SPM/O Level Additional Mathematics or equivalent
      • c) A credit in SPM/O Level Mathematics or equivalent and one of the Science, Technology or Engineering subject
    • *For category (c), students must pass a Mathematics enhancement course relevant to Computer Science before they could proceed to take core courses that requires Mathematics as pre-requisite in this programme
  • Matriculation/Foundation from other Institutions of Higher Learning and either one (1) of the following;
    • a) Pass in Mathematics subject equivalent to SPM Additional Mathematics in the Foundation/Matriculation or other equivalent qualification
    • b) A credit in SPM/O Level Additional Mathematics or equivalent
    • c) A credit in SPM/O Level Mathematics or equivalent and one of the Science, Technology or Engineering subject
