Entry Requirements

  • STPM: 
    • Science Stream: 2 Grade C in one Mathematics subject and one Science/ICT subject OR
    • Minimum 2 Grade C AND either One (1) of the following: 
      • a) A credit in SPM Additional Mathematics or equivalent, OR
      • b) A credit in SPM Mathematics and one of the Science, Technology or Engineering subject
      • *For category (b), students must pass a Mathematics enhancement course relevant to Software Engineering before they can proceed to take core courses that requires Mathematics as pre-requisite in this programme
  • A Level: 
    • 2 Grade D in one Mathematics subject and one Science/ICT subject OR
    • 2 Grade D AND either One (1) of the following: 
      • a) A credit in SPM/O Level Additional Mathematics or equivalent, OR
      • b) A credit in SPM/O Level Mathematics or equivalent and one of the Science, Technology or Engineering subject
      • *For category (b), students must pass a Mathematics enhancement course relevant to Software Engineering before they can proceed to take core courses that requires Mathematics as pre-requisite in this programme
  • Unified Examination Certificate (UEC): 
    • Grade B in 5 subjects including one Mathematics subject and one Science/ICT subject OR
    • Grade B in 5 subjects AND either One (1) of the following: 
      • a) A credit in SPM Additional Mathematics or equivalent, OR
      • b) A credit in SPM Mathematics and one of the Science, Technology or Engineering subject

  • South Australian Matriculation (SAM): 
    • Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) 70 and Grade B in one Mathematics and one Science/ICT subject OR
    • Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) 70 and Grade B in 2 subjects AND either One (1) of the following: 
      • a) A credit in SPM/O Level Additional Mathematics or equivalent, OR
      • b) A credit in SPM/O Level Mathematics or equivalent and one of the Science, Technology or Engineering subject
      • *For category (b), students must pass a Mathematics enhancement course relevant to Software Engineering before they can proceed to take core courses that requires Mathematics as pre-requisite in this programme
  • Canadian Pre-University (CPU): 
    • Average of 70% in one Mathematics and one Science/ICT subject (and 4 other subjects) OR
    • Average of 70% in 2 relevant subjects (and 4 other subjects) AND either One (1) of the following: 
      • a) A credit in SPM/O Level Additional Mathematics or equivalent, OR
      • b) A credit in SPM/O Level Mathematics or equivalent and one of the Science, Technology or Engineering subject
      • *For category (b), students must pass a Mathematics enhancement course relevant to Software Engineering before they can proceed to take core courses that requires Mathematics as pre-requisite in this programme
  • Diploma in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Information Technology/Information Systems or its equivalent from Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TARUMT)/other Institutions of Higher Learning: Minimum CGPA 2.50 
  • Diploma in Science and Technology: 
    • CGPA 2.50
    • Note: Diploma candidates with CGPA below 2.5 but above 2.0 may be admitted subject to a rigorous internal assessment process.
  • Foundation in Science, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman
  • Foundation in Arts (Management and Accountancy Stream), Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman
  • Matriculation/Foundation from other Institutions of Higher Learning AND either One (1) of the following: 
    • a) Pass in Mathematics subject equivalent to SPM Additional Mathematics in the Foundation/Matriculation or other equivalent qualification, OR
    • b) A credit in SPM/O Level Additional Mathematics or equivalent, OR
    • c) A credit in SPM/O Level Mathematics or equivalent and one of the Science, Technology or Engineering subject
    • *For category (c), students must pass a Mathematics enhancement course relevant to Software Engineering before they can proceed to take core courses that requires Mathematics as pre-requisite in this programme
  • Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government AND either One (1) of the following: 
    • a) Pass in Mathematics subject equivalent to SPM Additional Mathematics in the Foundation/Matriculation or other equivalent qualification, OR
    • b) A credit in SPM/O Level Additional Mathematics or equivalent, OR
    • c) A credit in SPM/O Level Mathematics or equivalent and one of the Science, Technology or Engineering subject
