Entry Requirements
A Level:
- BBB, ABC or AAC in Biology and Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics (minimum B in Chemistry)
- Malaysians must attain minimum C in BM and English at SPM or equivalent level (except Degree level)
STPM:
- cGPA 3.00 with BBB, ABC or AAC in Biology and Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics (minimum B in Chemistry)
- Malaysians must attain minimum C in BM and English at SPM or equivalent level (except Degree level)
Australian Matriculation:
- 80% aggregate or TER/UAI/ENTER/ATAR 80 including Chemistry, Biology and Physics or Mathematics (minimum B or equivalent in Chemistry)
- Malaysians must attain minimum C in BM and English at SPM or equivalent level (except Degree level)
NCEA Level 3:
- 70% aggregate including Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics or Physics (minimum 70% or equivalent to B in Chemistry)

Canadian Grade 12/13:
- 80% aggregate in 6 subjects including Chemistry, Biology and Physics or Mathematics (minimum B or equivalent in Chemistry)

UEC: B4 in 5 subjects:

International Baccalaureate (IB):
- 30 points with a minimum of 2 science subjects or Mathematics at Higher Level (HL) and 1 science subject at Standard Level (SL) and attained a minimum score of 4 each in Biology and Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics
Foundation Studies #:
- IMU Foundation in Science:
- Overall cGPA 3.00 with a B in Chemistry
- and attained 5Bs in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics/Additional Mathematics and another subject at SPM/O Level
- Malaysian must attain minimum C in BM and English at SPM or equivalent level
- *Foundation in Science or equivalent from other institutions will be subjected to the Dean's approval on a case by case basis
Degree:
- BSc in related field: cGPA 2.75
Diploma:
- Diploma in Science (Chemistry or Biology or Physics): cGPA3.75 including B in Chemistry
- Diploma in Pharmacy: cGPA 3.50 and attained 5Bs in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics/Additional Mathematics and another subject at SPM level or equivalentMalaysians must attain minimum C in BM and English at SPM or equivalent level (except Degree level)
# The duration of this programme must be a minimum of 1 year in the same accredited institution and foundation in other disciplines are accepted.
- MUET: Band score of 3; OR (For Malaysian students)
- IELTS: Overall band score of 6.0 (Not less than 5.5 for individual bands); OR
- Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE)*: Overall score of 169; OR
- Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE)*: Overall score of 169; OR
- Cambridge Linguaskill*: Overall score of 160; OR
- Pearson Test of English (PTE)*: Overall score of 59; OR
- Credit Transfer:
- IELTS:
- Students transferring to University of Otago are required to have an overall band of 6.0 (Not less than 6.0 for individual bands)
- Students transferring to University of Tasmania are required to have an overall band of 6.5 (Not less than 6.0 for individual bands)
