Taylor’s has outdone itself again. Based on the latest QS Asia University Rankings 2021, Taylor’s University is now among the top 90 universities in the Asia continent.

Standing tall at rank 89, the institution has risen 90 spots since 2016, making positive strides in indicators such as the Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Internationalisation and Faculty - Student ratio.

This achievement is not at all unexpected. According to Taylor’s Vice Chancellor and President, Professor Michael Driscoll, Taylor’s has been doing well in various QS ranking exercises. In fact, just earlier this year, the institution managed to become the top private university in Malaysia and the whole of Southeast Asia in the QS World University Rankings 2021.

And it’s all thanks to Taylor’s tech-infused curriculum and learning system. Even with the unprecedented pandemic, Taylor’s has managed to stay ahead of the competition through its “radical administrative and curriculum reforms.”

It takes advantage of technology to craft a truly unique online learning experience. Through the Borderless Learning initiative, brought forth by the award-winning Virtual Learning Environment, students get to engage with their lessons like never before, allowing them to attend classes in either face-to-face or online mode, while participating in discussions and projects virtually.

The Borderless Learning initiative includes various subject-specific microsites and gamification to encourage student’s engagement. Lecturers are also equipped with the Lightboard Technology, allowing them to face their students and write on the screen in real time, effectively simulating the seamless interactions that happen in a physical classroom. Students also have the option of revisiting their lectures and course materials with Taylor’s Lecture Capture System (ReWIND).

Having invested millions in developing its online learning system, it looks like things are really paying off.

“Following this, we will continue to push forward with our Borderless Learning concept and a unique ecosystem that future-proofs our graduates,” said Professor Driscoll.
