Great news for Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) business students! The prestigious Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) has recently signed an agreement with TAR UC to offer the CGMA Finance Leadership Program to all of TAR UC’s undergraduate and postgraduate business students.
Offered as a remote, self-paced learning programme, the CGMA Finance Leadership Program teaches a mix of finance, accounting, business, people, leadership and digital skills. It’s a great choice for business students as it provides a guided pathway for students to earn the Chartered Global Management Accountants (CGMA) designation. It is also a great online resource for those interested to pick up crucial financial skills equivalent to that of a master’s degree.
“TAR UC has been a key partner of CIMA in Malaysia since 1970,” said Venkkat Ramanan, a representative of AICPA and CIMA. “We are proud to continue to partner with TAR UC for the CGMA Finance Leadership Program, a complete digital learning platform, and enable a greater number of young talents to become Chartered Global Management Accountants and CIMA members.”
Under this agreement, TAR UC students who sign up for the CGMA programme will be eligible to start their CIMA journey alongside their TAR UC studies. Upon successful completion of the programme and fulfilling the practical experience requirements, students can earn the prestigious CIMA membership and CGMA designation, which can prove useful in boosting their career prospects.
The programme will also connect the students to the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (the Association), a global accounting organisation formed by CIMA and the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). This connection also includes a global network of 689,000 students, members and engaged professionals.
