About UNM’s Digital Storytelling and Production module

In this collaborative module, you’ll be learning with CNN tutors and complete a series of online workshops and courses on the CNN Academy Hub before joining the practical Sprint programme in Abu Dhabi for a week.

The Sprint programme is curated in association with the newsgathering, digital and programming teams associated with CNN’s flagship current affairs programme broadcast, Connect the World with Becky Anderson.

As part of the programme, you will:

  • Take part in a series of immersive simulations designed to expose you to a real-life setting of a multimedia newsroom and how it operates
  • Work through real-life breaking news case study, produce and broadcast a short TV show, and launch a digital news product
  • Pitch, shoot and edit content using smartphones and present your work to a panel of CNN judges

As this is part of your module assessment, you’ll gain course credits as well as a CNN Academy Certificate in Storytelling.

Note: There are no additional costs involved in joining the CNN module. Your course fee covers flights, visas, accommodation, catering, activities and travel costs in Abu Dhabi.
