There was much to be celebrated for the 117 graduates from INTEC Education College who successfully completed the Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) course.
With a passing rate of 29.9% above the world's average and a World Prize Winner amongst the graduates, there was an electrifying atmosphere as students, lecturers, parents and guests crowded the grand hall at INTEKMA Resort to mark the momentous occasion.
Professor Dr Hjh. Azni Zain Ahmed, Director of UiTM Private Education, delivered a rousing speech, congratulating the graduates for completing a crucial first step in their journey to be professional accountants.
The event culminated with Syarah Syahirah Sugianto, a World Prize Winner who achieved a perfect score in CAT's Maintaining Financial Records (FA2) paper, receiving a thunderous applause for her outstanding achievement.
"Studying smart and knowing how to allocate the right effort for different subjects is important," Syarah Syahirah said when asked about her secret to success.
Mohamad Shafiq Mohamad Yunus, who topped the Recording Financial Transaction (FA1) paper, felt that it was important to take the time to relax, especially a few days before the exams.
"I only scored 5As for SPM, but it doesn't stop you from achieving your dreams," said Mohamad Syafiq, who also credits the support and dedication of his lecturers for his achievement.
For Nabila Syuhada, a recipient of the Student Excellence Award, spending time outside of the classroom was key. She regularly takes part in silat practice in the evenings, which helps her focus during classes.
The ceremony also commemorated the one-year anniversary of INTEC's Professional Accountancy Centre (IPAC Education).
Established as an initiative to increase the number of bumiputera accountants, IPAC offers a wide range of professional accounting qualifications, including the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and also the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA).
Hearty congratulations to the CAT graduates of INTEC and we wish them success as they continue on with their ACCA journey!
