Students who have registered with First City University College can now pursue the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) professional qualification.
This comes after the university signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CIMA for academic collaboration and cooperation on 11 July 2017, making it another milestone for First City UC since it was recognised as a university college in 2015.
Through this partnership, students registered for the university college’s Diploma in Business Administration and BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance will receive conditional exemptions for the CIMA professional qualification before sitting for the CIMA exam.
The CIMA qualification can also be done concurrently with the student’s undergraduate course, enabling them to obtain a professional qualification before graduating.
Additionally, CIMA will be offering scholarships worth approximately RM13,000 to First City UC students who wish to pursue a CIMA qualification. The scholarship covers CIMA's exam and registration fees.
Furthermore, First City UC’s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences has recently launched 3 new homegrown degrees which will commence in September 2017:
- BA (Hons) Mass Communication as a pathway for existing Diploma graduates in the same field of study
- BA (Hons) International Business
- Bachelor of Business with Psychology (Hons)
